Stable solutions

8 fibers are suspended in a Stokes liquid and fall downwards due to gravity. Left: periodic boundary conditions (infinite volume), right: free space solution. Interestingly, both systems admit periodic solutions that would be stable in exact precision.

The dimensions of the box is 8-by-8-by-40 units and each fiber is 2 units long.
